Hydrophobic PTFE syringe filters have broad chemical compatibility and high pH resistance. These are versatile filters for use with aggressive organic solvent-based solutions and are especially ideal for HPLC sample preparation. The pure polypropylene housings are color-coded and available in smooth rim or gear rim formats.
Due to its hydrophobic nature the PTFE membrane functions as a water barrier and does not become wetted by aerosols. This keeps the hydrophobic venting filter permeable for gas or air! The housing of the filter is made of MBS (Methacrylate butadiene styrene) which has a limited compatibility with alcohols but is free of phthalates and passes the plastic class VI test.
